WHAT IS CYDP?

    Christian Youth Development Programme (CYDP) can best be explained in the following ways:
It is a Christian Youth outreach
It is a call to preach the gospel to save the unsaved child
It is about developing a total youth through interpersonal relationship and rapport
It is a non-denominational programme
It is a nonprofit programme
It is centered on Christ
It is about career development programme.

What CYDP is Not?

Christian Youth Development Programme (CYDP) is not about the following:
It is not a denominational programme
It is not a social programme
It is not centered on development alone but on Christ
It is not a profit making programme
It is not aimed at establishing fellowships or groups in schools but to work with already established ones (except in cases where there is none)


VOLUNTEERS MODE OF ENGAGMENT

    The central aim of CYDP is godly mentorship, counseling and development and in achieving this, there is need for an interpersonal or face-to-face interaction between the volunteer and the youths/mentees. The volunteer is to divide participants into smaller group, and ensure that each participant is involved in the activities of the programme.

Why you should be part of this programme!

BACKGROUND      The most current Nigeria national census of 2013 shows a population of 170.6 Million people with 0- 25 yrs. old account for 42.7% according to CIA World fact book. With life expectancy of 52 and 53 yrs, male and female respectively, and high birth rate the above statistics make sense. This demographic pattern means that winning the youths for Christ and teaching them to live the life of Christ will ultimately change the Nigeria into a godly nation. The Youth development programme started in Benin City, the capital city of Edo State Nigeria. This is a city of about one million people and children dominate like every urban area in Nigeria.
